Dear VISTA Residents,

The word 'community' is seen and heard everywhere today, in t.v. and radio commercials, on billboards everwhere where someone is using it to 'bring a group of like minded people together for a purpose'.

I now welcome everyone to the first edition of this newsletter. The purpose is to communicate with ALL of Vista and become YOUR voice.

Today a family life is hectic, 'time poor' and 'fast' very fast at times, mothers who worry about their kids, their families generally and of course their work and thus the 'juggle', from sunrise to sunset!!

We the committee will use this newsletter, to advise you what we are doing.

The community has told me personally it wanted:

- A playgym so as to not drive, to allow the kids to enjoy some play time with their family.
- A pre school kindergarten, again to remove the 'time' spent driving to who knows where for a place to leave their kids and 'fly' to work.
- A convenience shop where close to home the milk and few items missing from the fridge may be purchased.

This is what we are doing NOW. There will be more, but only with your help and support remember, as we too are you! we are but volunteers with family and need your encouragement and support.

Please enjoy the work of Sailen and his team of dedicated volunteers and read it and give us your feedback.

Development discussions with 'Good Start' pre-school and a possible development of an IGA; Medical centre and Pharmacy...discussions on 30/8/2012.

The reserve at Atlantic Boulevard will be nameless no more!, we the Vista executive committee in cooperation with the Campbelltown council and the Tharawal Local Aboriginal Land Council have agreed on a name for this reserve ( once Dharawal country) and the name propsed will be :Yangalóra ( 'may there be peace between people'). the executive commitee chose this name ahead of 2 others due to its intention and of course VISTA'S multicultural community. There will be a naming ceremony where we hope to have the land council and special guests celebrate with us. This cooperation will not ceaase as the land council and our executive commitee will organise indigenous arts and crafts events to educate the community on the rich history that is the DAHARAWAL. The local media, have been kept informed and we are continuing to organise special guests. Please keep following our facebook page for more information.

The VISTA executive is still negotiating with a playgym company for the installation of a playgym in 'Club Vista' this decision is an important one for our community who have requested such an asset for a while. We the executive are making certain that this decision is one that the community will agree with i.e. a place for mums and dads to enjoy watching their kids and friends enjoy a playground. We are making certain that this asset, paid by a special levy, is the right type for a majority of kids, with the right variety of playing equipment but with a price which will not tax the community too much (paid for only one year as a specail levy agreed at the AGM). Please keep 'glued'to our facebook page and direct communication on the email listings we have as approved contact points (supplied to me personally or by our strata manager, stratamaster)If we have your email, we, the community save money on postage, mailed to you from stratamaster, so please provide your email to receive important information about your Vista.
